Ondrian Fordrian: Never Look Back
Created in 48 hours for the Ludum Dare solo game dev competition on March 6-8, 2009. Described by one player as "sorta like slot car racing meets Frogger meets Kandinsky," this game is about moving forward with one's life. It consists of exactly one input: the "move forward" key. Coded in ActionScript 3 with TweenLite; animations created in the Flash IDE, with art pulled from the works of Wassily Kandinsky. Read my original concept here.
Autonomy
My pet project, under development in fits and starts since December, 2008. In this Flash puzzle game (coded in ActionScript 3), the player uses If and Then cards to program a robot, then sets the robot free to autonomously navigate the map. Minimalistic and mind-wracking puzzles. This game is currently in a very early stage of development, but it's fully playable and if you're persistent you'll have fun with it.
Cryptidia
A crazy game-toy created in 48 hours for the Ludum Dare solo game dev competition on Feb. 6-8, 2009. The theme of the competition was Cryptozoology, so I created a game in which the player creates a cryptid of his own. It's Mad Libs meets MSPaint! Coded from scratch in ActionScript 3, with art created in Flash and music performed in Anvil Studio, all by yours truly. Read more about it here and here.
Closing My Eyes
Another 48-hour Ludum Dare game, developed solo on April 17-19, 2009. This game is my take on what it might feel like to be on one's deathbed at the end of a long life--tired, discombobulated, trying to make sense of the mishmash of loving friends and family that surround you. The end result was something of a train wreck--far too quickly paced and pretty much nonsensical for most players. Oh well, what do you expect in 48 hours. Some day soon I will fix up a revised version. Read my original concept here.
